Emotional Vampires
Are there vampires in your midst?  Like the fabled demons, these are people who think their needs are more important than yours, believe rules apply only to other people and use their tempers to get their way.   Psychologist Albert Bernstein author of "Emotional Vampires: Dealing With People Who Drain You Dry" shares how we can protect ourselves from people who seek to destroy our emotional and psychological well-being today on HearSay.

Pieces of History

From the Eiffel Tower to the Taj Mahal, monuments teach us about history, culture, the rise and fall of civilizations and the unlimited reach of the human imagination.  We'll visit with author and urbanist Anthony Tung whose latest work "The Wonders of the World: 46 Monuments of Civilization" is an essential introduction to the most magnificent buildings and monuments.  From Egyptian pyramids to the International Space Station, it covers 4,500 years of world history.  And we'll talk with Wendy Drucker, Co-CEO, Drucker & Falk, LLC, and Sue Moniak, Executive Director of The Chamberlin, about the transformation of a Hampton Roads Landmark.  The former historic Chamberlin Hotel at Fort Monroe, is currently undergoing a $54-million renovation as it transitions into a luxury senior rental community. Scheduled to open in June 2008, it's one of the largest historic investment tax credit projects in Virginia’s history.

HearSay Classic: The Shape of Good Health

Are you an apple or a pear?  Did you know your body type determines a lot about your health and what foods you should eat?  On today's HearSay, we'll revisit a conversation with body-shape expert, Marie Savard, M.D., author of "The Body Shape Solution to Weight Loss and Wellness: The Apples & Pears Approach to Losing Weight, Living Longer and Feeling Healthier", about the role
that body shape plays in determining heart disease risk.  We'll also discuss how body image affects all of us as the face of anorexia is becoming younger and younger - even adolescent boys are struggling with poor body image.
