The shooting death of a shopper at an upscale Virginia Beach Shopping Center sent shockwaves throughout Hampton Roads.  As we approach the busy holiday shopping season, we'll look at efforts to keep us safe and talk with Mathew Obenaus, co-founder of SafeU. Obenaus is a personal safety instructor who teaches a "proactive" form of self defense utilizing awareness and mental cues to avoid an attack.

Why are girls becoming more violent?  From the playing field to the big screengirls and young women are embracing their physical power now more than ever, but is there a downside? Cathy's guest, psychologist Dr. James Garbarino, tackles the subject in his book "See Jane Hit: Why Girls Are Growing More Violent and What We Can Do About It". We'll talk with him about the causes and consequences of violent behavior by girls.
