Jamestown Settlement Guided Tour

Let our Foundation guide lead your group on a curriculum-based, inquiry-oriented tour of Jamestown Settlement. Students get involved with significant aspects of the English, Powhatan, and African cultures of the 17th-century colony at Jamestown Settlement. During tours, students handle reproduction objects, think about history through provocative questions, talk with costumed interpreters, and experience living history and gallery exhibits. Seeds of Change

From the tiny celery seed to the 40 pound coco-de-mer, most plants grow from seeds. Seeds are also used in making everything from toothpaste, to film and candy bars. Seeds of Change introduces students to seeds and allows them to examine different seeds, crack open a seed to reveal the tiny embryo and plant a seed to take home. (Grades 1-5)

Where in the Woods? Adventure Packs

Explore the Garden on your own with a Where in the Woods? These backpacks contain 10 fun, hands-on activities, maps, hand lenses, a compass, a tree identification book and a story book. Each pack contains enough material for 15 students. To reserve an Adventure Pack, please call 441-5830 ext. 338.
